Index

Long, long ago there was a monster who set out to take control of all the time periods of history and enslave mankind. He called himself “Salamander” and claimed to be the Emperor of Space-Time. He also possessed the power to transform all living things into dinosaurs. Only the death of Salamander could undo his magic.

		Planet Earth, 2001: A master historian and accomplished scientist by the name of Hashimoto found an old tome while browsing a library. The volume was titled The Legend of Salamander and had a number of pages missing. The ever curious Hashimoto gathered all the resources he could find and began researching The Legend of Salamander, all the while curious as to contents of the missing pages. One fateful day, the great Hashimoto decided to take a break from his research and take a walk out to the park. Suddenly, Salamander appeared and cast his magic on him. However, thanks to his strong spirit, Hashimoto escaped the full effects of the spell; it was only his body that changed into a dinosaur, his heart and spirit remained intact. Thus, the great Hashimoto became Hashimoto Zaurus, aka Pocket Zaurus or PZ for short. He grabbed his special Boomerang, jumped in his Time Capsule (a time machine that he made himself) and chased after Salamander. Will the great Hashimoto, now Hashimoto Zaurus, be able to defeat the terrifying Salamander, Emperor of Space-Time, break the spell and return to his human form? And just what is written in the missing pages of The Legend of the Salamander?

Game Flow


Screen Description


High Score Display
The High Score is displayed on the Title Screen. However, "Swords of the Ten Kings" does not return to the Title Screen when you get a Game Over. If you want to see the High Score, press the Reset Button and the current High Score will be displayed on the Title Screen.

Cross Button	Hashimoto Zaurus and the Time Capsule move in whatever direction the arrow is pressed. (Pressing the Cross Button Up or Down allows Hashimoto Zaurus to climb ladders.)
A Button	・ Hashimoto Zaurus jumps ・ Fires bombs while in the Time Capsule ※ Pressing the Cross Button Down and the A Button at the same time will cause Hashimoto Zaurus to jump down.
B Button	・ Throws Hashimoto Zaurus's Boomerang ・ Fires the Time Capsule's Punch ※ Pressing the Cross Button Up and the B Button at the same time will make Hashimoto Zaurus throw his Boomerang upwards. ※ Pressing the Cross Button Down and the B Button at the same time will make Hashimoto Zaurus use a Flash bomb.
Start Button	The game will start if you press this button at the Title Screen. Pause Function When you want to temporarily interrupt game play or display your inventory, press the Start Button to pause the game and show which items you have. Pressing the Start Button again will return you to the game.
Select Button	Pressing the Select Button at the Title Screen allows you to select either the Bring It On! Mode or Daddy's Mode. ※ Daddy's Mode is a little easier than the Bring It On! Mode.

Time for a pop quiz! Select the correct answer with the B or A Button and points scored in the quiz will be added to your score!

ITEMS

Bottlanodon Various items are contained in these. ※ Enemies sometimes have a Bottlanodon. Some of the items contained in these are enemies in themselves!! Flash Using this inflicts the same amount of damage as 3 strikes with the Boomerang to every enemy on the screen. Diamond 1000 points Eventually you'll be in tears if you don't start collecting these. Hint Mark If you have these, they provide useful information to Hashimoto Zaurus. W Score Item For about 20 seconds, any points scored will be doubled.

Hashimoto Mark It fully restores Hashimoto Zaurus's power. Continue Mark If you get a Game Over, it lets you restart the game from the beginning of the current stage. High Speed Mark For about 40 seconds, Hashimoto Zaurus moves faster. 1UP Mark This increases Hashimoto Zaurus's lives by one. (However, if you don't have 5 Diamonds you can't pick it up.) Dracula It's a monster lurking in a Bottlanodon.

Super Shield Hashimoto Zaurus transforms into Super Zaurus when he puts on the Power Suit. このSuper Shieldを取った時点でPowerがＦＵＬＬになり、BoomerangもSuper Boomerangとなり倍の早さになる。 ※ If his power falls below 1/3 he will turn back into Hashimoto Zaurus.

★	Your power bar increases by about one half (20 power points) when you collect 30,000 points.
※	However, the power bar cannot exceed 40 power points.

Losing a Life

★	Hashimoto Zaurus starts the game with 3 lives.
●	Hahsimoto Zaurus will lose a life if his power level reaches zero. When he dies, he will re-start from the point where he lost that life.

Game Over
First, unravel the mystery of the Sword of Ten Kings!
Hashimoto Zaurus can choose whether or not to fight Salamander once he lost all of his lives.
(However, you will stand no chance against, at any stage, if you don't first unravel the mystery of the Swords of Ten Kings.)

※	Your score will be reset to zero if you choose to Continue the game.

Prontos A long necked fire breathing dinosaur	Jaws 恐竜時代の海の王者。	Tarantula 古代毒グモ。Tarantulaネットをはって、獲物を待ちぶせる。	Puratero 古代翼竜。	Triceras 鋭い角を持っている。特に地下に住んでいるやつは性格が強暴。

Mega Zaurus 超巨大恐竜。 唯一の弱点は！？

Moglas 地下に住み、穴をほって相手を落とす。	Gera 洞窟の天井にぶらさがり、獲物が来るのを待っている。	Gue the Cave Man 口からグエロックという岩をはき出してくる。	Huge Dinosaur Foot 洞窟を踏みぬく謎の巨大恐竜の足。踏まれたら、ひとたまりもない。	Volcanic Rock Volcanoの噴火によって飛んでくる。

第2時空間部隊 （古代Egypt時代制圧隊） Great King Tutankham Great King Tutankhamは3兄弟で口から毒ガスをふく。

Java ものかげから石を投げてくる。	Straw Java Pocket ZaurusのＰＯＷＥＲを特しゅなストローで吸ってしまう。吸血鬼のようなやつ。	Java Copies Javaが4段重ねになってヤリを投げてくる。	Rolling Java 車輪をどんどんころがしてくる。	Palm Tree Trap 体をふるわせて、ヤシの実を落としてくる。

Cobra ツボの中から現われる。	バッスン岩 Upに乗ると突然消えて、落ちた者の上に落下してくる謎の岩。	Sphinx's Soul スフィンクスの迷路の中にあらわれる不思議な浮遊体。	Baby Snake スフィンクスの番人。	Cobra Relief 時々、毒をふくんだ舌を出す。

第3時空間部隊 （未来時代制圧隊） Prince Bug 口からバグ王子たちを出す。バグ王子は飛びはねる。

Mecha Croc 未来の沼や川の王者。サイボーグ化したワニ。	Mecha Prontos 心優しい温厚なメカ恐竜。	Chokirandon 自分の口をハサミにして攻撃してくる。	Kuttsuki Zaurus バタバタと飛びまわる。以外にしつこい性格。

Shigamitsukiras 敵が近づくと、卵からかえって、相手にしがみつきＰＯＷＥＲを吸いとる。	Hochikiratopus 口から、ホッチキスの針を飛ばしてくる。	Shampoorinsaurus 双頭のメカ恐竜。強力粘着シャボン玉を出してくる。	Morokoshi Rocket Pocket Zaurusの進路を妨害する巨大ロケット。

Salamander's Ghost 大帝Salamanderの分身。	Scrubbing Jaras A basic barricade	Mirror Mildas Pocket Zaurusの攻撃をはねかえす。	Croonto Zaurus 敵が近づくと、発射台からロケットのように発射される。

第2異次元空間部隊 （妖怪の世界制圧隊） Demon King Burial 妖力を持ち、魔界ビームで攻撃し、4つに分身する。

Gameを進める！Crossword Puzzleをとく！どちらができなくても、Pocket Zaurus「Swords of the Ten Kings」は、完全には解けない。おまけにこのCrosswordは、素敵なPresentが当るCampaignにも関係してるんだ。さあ、秘密に挑戦だ！

1．	Commander をやっつけろ！ どのStageでも、あることをするとCommander 面にワープできる。そこでCommander を倒すと暗号がおしえてもらるんだ。この暗号を必ずメモしておくんだぜ。
2．	各StageのBossを倒せ！ 各StageのBossを倒すと「暗号を入力せよ」とMessageがでる。ここで①の暗号を入力すると、CrosswordのKey WordをとくHintがもらえるんだ。
3．	Crossword Puzzleをとけ！ 各StageのCrossword Puzzleを全部とくと、Swords of the Ten Kingsの一部がわかる。5つとければ、いよいよSalamanderを倒せるんだ。
